Spend Money, GIVE Money

I’m still going to write a post about why giving to MDA is important, but I figured I should put this on the blog, since the announcement has already gone up on my website and on Facebook.

Throughout the entire month of September, if you buy any CD(s) from my website or from me personally, I will be donating 50% of the profit to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  So if you’ve ever considered buying a CD from me, now is a great time to do it.  I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and I’ve realized that the only reason I haven’t is because—well—I haven’t.  So I’m doing it now.  Please click over to www.derekbrink.com and buy a CD or two or three (or more, but then you’ll have some duplicates), and know that you’re helping to make life better for people who need it.  And THANK YOU.

(A couple of legal things:)

  • I am unable to track my sales via iTunes/Rhapsody/Napster, so any purchases made via those services won’t work out—this deal applies to physical products ONLY.
  • Please note that your purchase will NOT be tax-deductible, because I’m not a non-profit organization.  You’re just buying a CD, and I’m telling you what I’m doing with the money—but that kind of thing shouldn’t stop you from being generous.)

Hope to hear from you over on the website soon!  Hopefully you’ll enjoy the music you buy…but even if you don’t, you’ll love the feeling you get from knowing part of the money went to a good cause.  I’ll be autographing/numbering each one sold, so if you want anything specific written on it, let me know.

Talk to you tomorrow about why I (still) support MDA.  Until then…courage.
