It is February 18, and I am already tired of Summer, thanks to the 80-degree temperature out of nowhere. I mean seriously…what was that all about anyway? I’m still sweaty. It’s 12:20 a.m. on February 18th, and I’m sweaty.

2010 was a good year for music.  2011 looks to be shaping up pretty well too.  I’ve already got five records that’ve come out this year, and they look to be on their way to my top ten for the year, too!

In case you’re wondering, the five I’ve got are (in the order I bought them):

  1. CAKE – “Showroom of Compassion”
  2. Iron & Wine – “Kiss Each Other Clean”
  3. Wanda Jackson – “The Party Ain’t Over”
  4. …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – “Tao of the Dead”
  5. Drive-By Truckers – “Go-Go Boots”

And here’s the list of music releases I’ve got to pick up this year (in no particular order, and not all of them are necessarily confirmed releases…and I think I may have missed one or two…):

  1. Hayes Carll – “KMAG YOYO”
  2. Pearl Jam – “Live on Ten Legs”
  3. Get Up Kids – “There Are Rules”
  4. Foo Fighters – “Wasting Light”
  5. Possibly a new Who record, but I doubt it…
  6. Rush – “Clockwork Angels”
  7. Motorhead – “The World is Yours”
  8. Old 97s – “Grand Theatre Vol. 2”
  9. Ting Tings – (Title unconfirmed, I think)
  10. Over the Rhine – “The Long Surrender”
  11. U-2 – (Title unconfirmed)
  12. Wilco – (Unconfirmed, but heavily rumored)

…so yeah…looks like a good year.

  1. It is supposed to get cold again, just for a bit. I’m just hoping the rain we have right now will stop long enough to do potato launcher tomorrow. I love sixth grade science projects, don’t you?

  2. Ooo! Potato launcher! That’s big fun. Hope it worked out okay.

And I knew it’d cool off…I was just tired and grumpy. 🙂
